Prominent Indian batsman Virat Kohli did not rank among the world’s top 10 most-Googled celebrities. With more than 265 million followers on Instagram, Kohli—one of the most well-known sportsmen in the world—is the most followed Asian.

He also has approximately 60 million followers on X (previously Twitter) and 50 million followers on Facebook. Nevertheless, Kohli’s name remained absent from the list of the top 10 Indian names that were searched for on Google in 2023. In 2023, Shubman Gill, a young batter from India, is the most googled cricket player, ranking second overall.

There are five more cricket players on the list besides Gill. The other two Indians on the list are Mohammed Shami and Suryakumar Yadav, who are ranked fourth and ninth, respectively.

Kiara Advani, a Bollywood actress, is ranked first, ahead of Gill.

The whole list of the most popular Google users in India in 2023 is provided here:

1. Advani Kiara

2. Gill Shubman

3. Ravindra Rachin

4. Shami Mohammed

5. Yadav Elvish

6. Malhotra Sidharth

7. Glenn Maxwell

8. David Beckham

9. Yadav Suryakumar

10. Travis Head

In Google’s 25-year history, Kohli is the most searched cricket player, even if he didn’t make the Top 10 list in 2023.

Players like Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni, and Sachin Tendulkar are on the list. However, in Google’s history, it was Kohli who became the “most searched cricketer.”

But Kohli was not the most sought-after athlete on the list when it comes to searches. It was the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid and Manchester United, who plays for the Saudi Arabian team Al-Nassr at the age of 38 and is still going strong.

With 932 runs in 30 innings, Kohli became India’s top run scorer in the previous World Cup cycle. During the current cycle, he has already amassed a century and a fifty in two completed Test matches against the West Indies.

After amassing an incredible 765 runs in the ODI World Cup on home ground to win Player of the Tournament, Kohli is in dominant form.

After being rested for the T20I and ODI series, he will now be seen in action during the next Test visit of South Africa.
