When Pakistani actress Nadia Jamil said that she had experienced childhood sexual abuse

<p>Nadia Jamil, a seasoned actress from Pakistan, has raised awareness about child abuse by speaking out about it and by sharing personal stories about her own terrible experiences. Amidst the MeToo Movement, several women and prominent actors from various sectors worldwide disclosed their heartbreaking experiences of sexual harassment. Its effects were also seen in India, where a number of well-known figures were exposed for supposedly harassing women. In 2018, Nadia Jamil spoke up about the event on X, which was previously known as Twitter, for the first time.</p>

<p>“When I was sexually abused, it was by my driver, Kari Sahab, and then by a highly educated elite family son,” the actress stated in a tweet. Now a contentedly wed businessman residing in London. It applies to everything. All men mistreat. My family still desires that I keep quiet. However, the guilt is not mine! Never, ever (sic).</p>
<p>Following the horrifying Kasur event, in which an eight-year-old girl was discovered to have been raped and killed, Nadia spoke about her own experience. Numerous performers conveyed their hopelessness and demanded accountability for the horrifying event.</p>
<p>The actress revealed in 2022 that she had experienced abuse three times, the first time at the ages of four, nine, and seventeen or eighteen. She also included a number of her joyful childhood photos. Nadia also said that she has overcome her long battle with depression. “To get where I am today, healed, it has taken me two years to battle severe despair, sorrow, dread, and a humiliation I had no right feeling. not just getting by, but flourishing. From suffering to tranquility, there is a path. Love Nado, you are never alone,” she said on the microblogging platform.</p>
<p>On a Pakistani media website in July 2023, Nadia spoke about her experiences after the Kasur event. She stated she came to the realization that she needed to reveal the sexual abuse that she had experienced with others, not so she could get attention, but so the kids would know that it is acceptable. “Let’s survive.”</p>
<p>She also advised parents to monitor their children and take note of any behavioral changes throughout the interview. Nadia Jamil on X said after the interview that she did not find it easy.</p>
<p>Nadia Jamil has been speaking out more about child abuse over the years and urging the survivors to realize that it is “not my shame.”</p>
