Ishan Kishan, an Indian wicketkeeper-battler, missed his fifth consecutive Ranji Trophy match on Friday, February 2. Despite not being a member of the Indian squad that is now engaged in a five-match Test series against England, the Jharkhand cricket player has not been seen in the local arena.

During the South Africa series, Kishan had left the Indian squad willingly, claiming mental exhaustion. Kishan had asked for a leave of absence from the Indian cricket board, and he hasn’t made any public announcements on when he plans to return.

Not To Be Observed
Ishan did not participate in the three Twenty20 international matches against Afghanistan after his absence from the South Africa Tests, nor did he return to the local stage to compete for the Ranji Trophy.

In a statement after his absence, India head coach Rahul Dravid said that Kishan would need to establish himself in domestic cricket in order to be brought back to the national squad. But even with the T20 World Cup rapidly approaching, Kishan is nowhere to be seen.

It was not possible to pick Ishan Kishan. We decided to take a vacation in South Africa after Ishan made this request. We were in favor of it. He has not yet offered himself for use. He hasn’t, in my opinion, made himself accessible just yet. Ishan may be able to return to international cricket, Dravid said. “When he is available, he will play domestic cricket and make himself available for selection.”

news organization Regarding Ishan Kishan, PTI had been in touch with the Jharkhand State Association, but the board members seemed to be ignorant of the situation.

“No, we haven’t heard from Ishan or received any information on his availability. He will enter the playing XI whenever he informs us, Chakraborty told PTI.

Kishan definitely ought to have remained for the South Africa Test series rather than leaving, a former BCCI office bearer further told PTI, raising the possibility that anything unusual was going on behind the scenes.

Maybe he should have waited and remained for the Test series. If you leave your seat during an Indian cricket match, you may not be able to return to it. A former BCCI office bearer told PTI, “There are so many talented people out there.

“A subtle ego works when you go and tell them that I am leaving because I am not playing, but no coach or captain will tell you this on face. In essence, you are contesting the decision made by the team management,” he had said.

Run Away and Look
On his Instagram feed, Ishan Kishan has been consistently sharing updates. The cricket player declared in the description of one of his videos that he would never stand motionless.

As things stand, supporters may see Kishan make a comeback in the Indian Premier League 2024; yet, it must be noted that he will need to clear a mountain to be included on the Indian T20 World Cup 2024 roster.
